blue block lens

Blue light is everywhere that come from sunlight and man-made.

Blue light is a color in the visible light spectrum from 380nm to 500nm and it’s one that our eyes are particularly sensitive to because of its short, high energy wavelengths. Blue light is everywhere, sunlight is main source of blue light, but there are also many man-made, indoor’s source of blue light like fluorescent and LED lighting and flat-screen televisions Too much exposure to blue light can damage light-sensitive cells in the retina. This causes changes that resemble those of macular degeneration which can lead to permanent vision loss. Many eye care providers are concerned that the added blue light exposure from computer screens, smartphones and other digital devices might increase a person’s risk of macular degeneration later in life or may contribute to digital eye strain. Exposure to blue light also affect our sleep, Blue light suppresses the body’s secretion of melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep and wakefulness.

Why we choose blue block lenses?

We are very vulnerable because our eyes have not yet developed natural defense against UV and HEV blue light, especially when people spending amount of time on devices like computer, electronic, notebook and so on. Blue light lenses are designed to filter and/or reflect different levels of blue light that can help to protect our eyes from excess artificial blue light with patented, multi-layer coating design that reduce glare, reflect blue light away from the lens and relieve long-term eye strain caused by excess electronic device use.

The blue block lenses from Yuzhou Optics:

Yuzhou Optics blue block lens will give you premium protection for your eyes. There are two types blue block lens you can choose. The first are lenses that have blue light reflecting AR coatings which are typically clear. The second type are lenses with blue block tints. Clear lenses do not change or alter the colors you see. Tinted lenses filter light and can change visible colors but can also reduce glare more effectively for light sensitive people.

Blue block lens with special monomers in the lens material

Blue Block Lens Tints are rated as the percentage of Total Blue Light filtered, not just HEV Blue light. Blue block tints are designed to not only protect your eyes from HEV Blue Light but also to address glare issues

Blue Coating lens

Blue Block AR Coatings are rated as the percentage of HEV Blue Light filtered/reflected from 415nm through the 455nm range. If a blue block AR lens provides a 20% reduction in blue light, it is this range that is being reducedEspecially attention: different customers have different ideas, you can get customized blue coating lens from Yuzhou Optics:

Is blue light all bad for you? NO!

The light that reaches and enters the human eye is divided into visible light, comparing wavelengths from 380nm to 780nm, and non-visible light which includes light in the ultraviolet range and the infrared range. Blue light is from 400nm to 500nm. Too much exposure to blue light will cause macular degeneration, digital eye strain and sleep problems. But not all blue light is bad, Research has shown that high-energy visible light between 450nm to 500nm is considered good blue light and needed for good health. It boosts alertness, helps memory and cognitive function and elevates mood. It regulates circadian rhythm – the body's natural wake and sleep cycle. Exposure to blue light during daytime hours helps maintain a healthful circadian rhythm
